What To Expect During Your Foot Reflex Session
Before Your Session At the first session, please fill out a brief information form which will assist me in the assessment of your general health, your stress level, and any pain.
What Do I Wear? You should dress in very comfortable clothes, preferably a t-shirt and elastic-waist comfy shorts or sweatpants. You will be laying down on a comfortable cushioned massage table with pillows and a blanket if needed.
D H Reflexology applies pressure to the reflex points on your bare feet and ankles. It may also include work on the lower legs to relieve tension and pain around or in the calf or shins.
Some points may be quite tender. It is important to work these points out so your body can receive the most benefits from the session. Breath deeply to assist in releasing the tensions in these points.
1 hour session can include:
Washing the feet with a hot wet towel (feels so good!)
Soothing Lavender Essential Oil Aromatherapy
Emphasis to help a specific condition.
Relaxing Music to enhance your experience
Relaxation and Deep Breathing Techniques
Qi Energy Work (Increases, Soothes, and Balances the body’s Qi, life force energy.)
During Your Session
Everyone’s body is unique and has its own experience. Most people experience body parts relaxing and releasing tensions. You may experience increased warmth and sometime tingling sensations in different areas of the body. This is completely natural. As blockages and tensions are released in the qi meridians (energy channels of the body) your feel warmth or tingles as the qi flow improves. Where the qi flows, the blood follows. More blood and energy is flowing through your body helping your body recover more quickly.
Many people experience a deep state of peace and tranquility near the end of their session. You may even fall into a deep relaxing sleep. Enjoy! Your parasympathetic system is on full throttle and you can receive the regenerative health benefits.
After Your Session
Often people will feel deeply relaxed and mildly euphoric. Some people experience enhanced levels of energy while others feel like they want to sit quietly, relax, or take a nap. Feel free to relax on the couch in the waiting area after your session so your body can fully absorb the benefits. Listen to your body and do what is best for you.
D H Reflexology is a natural processto restore balance, relieve tension and stress in the body. This will increase circulation to all the cells, organs & tissues. This will also activate your lymphatic and kidney systems to cleanse and remove toxins from the body. There are no side effects but, as in all bodywork, sometimes these systems will become more active during the next few days while the body is cleansing. This is a perfectly natural process and to support it, drink plenty of water.
Immediately after your session drink at least 8 oz. of room temperature or luke warm water. This will help flush the toxins out your body and help you feel even better. Warm water hydrates the body faster than cold water.
Remember your body is cleansing and balancing so WATER is important! Please drink at least 32 oz. (4 full cups) of pure water in the next 24 hours. The more water the better, since toxins are being eliminated.
You also may experience more energy than usual the next day. If you are more tired, get extra sleep. Some people experience sinus drainage the day after a session. This is perfectly normal and means your body is cleansing.
